On March 24, the Naperville District 203 School Board approved a carbon action plan with a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to net-zero by 2050. The district leveraged key stakeholders including students and the broader community for input and feedback in developing the final recommendation.
This resulted in a pragmatic and flexible approach for achieving net-zero. At our May Community Meeting, Chuck Freundt, Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services, and Melanie Brown, Director, Buildings & Grounds, will share the approach and insights that led to the development and approval of the plan.
